The Rest Is Noise Opening Night

To celebrate the opening night of The Rest is Noise, the Beecham Bar will be relocated to the Weston Pavilion and we will be joined by Alex Ross, author of the book ‘The Rest is Noise – listening to the Twentieth Century’ and special guests associated with the Festival.

In recognition of the support given to the London Philharmonic Orchestra by the members of the Thomas Beecham Group, we have named the Orchestra’s concert on Saturday 16 February ‘The Thomas Beecham Group Concert’. Following the performance, there will be a special dinner for Thomas Beecham Group patrons at the Corinthia Hotel, London – located just across the river next to Charing Cross

This popular ’behind the scenes’ evening will take a closer look at the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s brass section. Enjoy an insightful and light hearted look into this section with members performing a selection of their favourite pieces and introducing guests to their instruments. This will be coupled with a drinks reception on arrival and a post-performance informal buffet supper served in Henry Wood Hall’s crypt.

The Annual Fundraising Gala

We are delighted to announce that the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual fundraising Gala will take place at Guildhall on Thursday 27 June.
The 2013 Gala evening promises to be a wonderful occasion in a beautiful historic venue. Guests will enjoy a Champagne Taittinger reception in the Old Library, followed by a special orchestral performance of Britten’s A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, followed by a formal dinner, accompanied by Villa Maria wines, in the stunning Great Hall.

Principal Harp Rachel Masters, Friends Supported Musician for 2012/13, will give a talk and 45 minute recital in a private home in Chiswick. Refreshments and canapés will be served. The event is kindly hosted by David and Louise Kaye.
