On Saturday 21 March 2015 at Royal Festival Hall, the London Philharmonic Orchestra performed the UK premeire of Composer in Residence Magnus Lindberg's Piano Concerto No. 2. This new work was flanked by Russian ballet music, as Vladimir Jurowski led the Orchestra in excerpts of Prokofiev's Chout and Stravinsky's Petrushka. Read the reviews from the concert ...

'Jurowski’s performances with the LPO these days really are unmissable.' ***** Geoff Brown, The Times, 23 March 2015 (Subscription only)

‘Jurowski shaped an exceptionally vivid performance that stressed the music's originality and timeless appeal' **** John Allison, The Telegraph, 22 March 2015

'Bronfman was virtuosic and rapacious with the zillions of notes that he is presented with – flawlessly dedicated in fact – and the London Philharmonic and Vladimir Jurowski really could not be faulted. Lindberg, a first-rate pianist himself, and presently the LPO’s Composer in Residence, was in attendance and was no doubt delighted with what he heard.' Colin Anderson, Classical Source, 22 March 2015

'Over the past two Saturdays, Vladimir Jurowski and a London Philharmonic on top form have given us a mini-festival of great scores for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. The hallucinogenic vision of ancient Greece in Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé last week was succeeded yesterday evening by the fresh-as-poster-paint colours of Stravinsky’s Petrushka and excerpts from Prokofiev’s Chout ...' David Nice, The Arts Desk, 22 March 2015

'But by the time Bronfman hurtled across the finishing line one wanted to stand and cheer ... Another evening of ambition and high quality from the London Philharmonic Orchestra' **** Richard Fairman, Financial Times, 23 March 2015
