London Philharmonic Orchestra

Young Composers - mentored by Turnage
London Philharmonic Orchestra's Composer in Residence

This Spring four young, talented composers - Jason Noghani, Mica Levi, Steven Daverson and Gavin Higgins – have been given the unique opportunity of working with Mark-Anthony Turnage while developing new works for ensemble.

The composers will write for an ensemble of London Philharmonic Orchestra players and talented young instrumentalists on the Foyle Future Firsts Programme. Their work will be supported through workshops with Orchestral players and mentoring sessions with Mark-Anthony Turnage, allowing them to explore and develop their ideas and to respond to feedback.

You can hear the world premiere performances of these pieces in a free pre-concert programme on Wednesday 30 April in the Royal Festival Hall.

Visit the composers' blog to find out more about them, and hear about the workshops and the progress of their compositions.

The Young Composers programme is supported by the Paul Morgan Charitable Trust.
