The London Philharmonic Orchestra will present 7 BrightSparks concerts this academic year at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. The concerts are aimed at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and within this model the LPO is delighted to launch its first GCSE concert this season.
Across the year the Concerts will provide 15,000 pupils with the chance to hear a live Orchestra. The programming and presentation of the concerts are designed in line with National Curriculum objectives.

For a large proportion of pupils these events are the first time they will have visited a concert hall to hear a live orchestra, giving them an intense and inspiring experience. Through the generous support of Deutsche Bank the LPO is able to offer all tickets for these concerts completely FREE* to schools.
“A valuable music experience that builds on knowledge that we try to impart in our music curriculum.”
St William of York RC Primary School, Lewisham
“I think it extends what we offer in school. It is obviously something that we cannot provide ourselves”
Darrell Primary School, Richmond
*As per the terms and conditions of booking, cancellation of tickets less than a month prior to the concert or failure to turn up to a concert will result in a charge of £3.50 per ticket to the school.

Join former Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo (War Horse, Private Peaceful) and the London Philharmonic Orchestra for a unique musical telling of The Mozart Question.
A young journalist is sent to Venice to interview the great violinist Paolo Levi. Before she sets off she’s given one warning: don’t ask ‘the Mozart question’.
But she doesn’t have to because Levi has decided the time has come to tell his story. It’s a story of survival: it tells of the horrors of the holocaust and the incredible healing power of music.
The story is told with the music played live and featuring works by Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss and Messiaen.
