• The orchestra
Education Team currently presents two main school-based workshop
programmes: ConcertLink & PlayerLink.
• A third programme
of workshops, Adopt-a-Class, works with pupils with special
needs.
• A total of 168
workshops take place each year (ConcertLink and PlayerLink
produce 72 each, whilst the Adopt-a-Class special needs programme
has a series of 24).
• Approximately
4000 children attend orchestra workshops each year.
• There are three
orchestra Schools' Concerts each year at the Royal Festival
Hall.

• Three months prior
to each schools concert the orchestra provides teacher inset
sessions exploring classroom activities linked to the concerts.
• Children from
some 500 schools attend these concerts, with a total audience
over the three concerts of 9,000.
